Prof. Dr. Jasmin Komić, Bachelor of Economics, has been a full professor of Statistics at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka since 2004. He has been engaged as a lecturer in the courses Statistics, Economic Statistics, Econometrics, Experimental Statistics, Experimental Planning and Results Processing, Medical Statistics and other related disciplines in all study cycles at the faculties of the universities of Banja Luka, Sarajevo and Mostar.

He was the head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka. Specific domains of interest: multivariate statistical analysis, sampling, statistical survey organisation, demographic analyses, use of statistical surveys in other fields (agriculture, medicine, sports), etc. Author/co-author of several books and author/co-author of numerous scientific and professional papers published in journals of national and international importance, congresses, symposia and consultations. Professional training: Japan, Spain and Denmark are of special significance. He was hired at the Institute for Industrial Systems Engineering in Novi Sad as a lecturer and a member of the ISO 9000 standards implementation team. Leadership and participation in a large number of scientific and research projects as a project manager, research manager, coordinator, co-author, surpervisor or consultant.

He worked as a consultant to the World Bank and a number of international agencies, especially in the field of statistical surveys. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Encyclopaedia of Republika Srpska, the Expert Editorial Staff for Demography and Statistics, the Editorial Board of the journal Acta Economica, and the Editorial Board of the journal “Savremeni Sport”. At the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics, he is the editor-in-chief of several publications released by the Institute. He was the Organizational Committee President at the Project of writing International Encyclopedia of Statistical Science (M. Lovric, Editor-in-Chief), by Springer, 2011.

He has been a member of the World Academy of Art & Science since 2013. Presentations at the CransMontana Forum in Brussels, University of East London, ConfInd in Bucharest, Trieste, Ministerial Meeting in Zagreb, Belgrade, Maintenance Forum Budva and many others. Membership of the Economic Forum of the President of Republika Srpska, the Pension System Reform Commission of Republika Srpska, the Commission for Monitoring the Economic Reform Process of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the Statistical Council of Republika Srpska, the Board of Directors of the City Development Agency CIDEA of the City of Banja Luka. He was the chairman and a member of the Working Group on Statistics within the working groups on European Integration in the Coordination System of the European Integration Process in BiH. He is also a member of the Demographic Council for Statistics of Republika Srpska and the Statistical Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Twice elected Deputy Mayor of the City of Banja Luka. Elected three times as the Minister of Science and Technology in the Government of Republika Srpska. Elected as the Deputy Prime Minister in the Government of Republika Srpska in 2013-2014.

Since May 2018, he has been the Director General of the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics.
